Provides emergency food, clothing (including work clothing), pet food (when available), household items and linens (as available) and seasonal assistance including school supplies and Thanksgiving & Christmas groceries. Arlington Housing Authority
Administers the Section 8 Housing Choice voucher program, rental housing assistance for homeless persons, the Housing Rehabilitation Program, Tenant-based Rental Assistance Program and the Homebuyers Assistance Program. 817-275-3351

Arlington Life Shelter
Provides shelter, meals and rehabilitative servies for homeless men, women, and children. The program emphasis is assisting clients to become self-sufficient through case management services, structured employment programs and mandatory classes four days per week focusing on life and job skills. Self-help groups (AA, NA, and educational support groups) are also available. Arlington Pregnancy Center
Arlington/Mansfield Pregnancy Center provides hassle-free, no-cost services in a convenient, confidential atmosphere. They provide specialized medical services, education and counseling. No woman leaves the clinic without the help she needs to make an informed choice. They do not charge for their services, and therefore do not profit from the woman’s decision. The Arlington/Mansfield Pregnancy Center is a non-profit corporation. As a result of volunteerism and financial donations, they are able to provide quality care to clients at no charge. Individuals, foundations, and organizations throughout the Metroplex area make tax-deductible donations to their centers. Their belief is that a woman deserves a safe and confidential place when seeking information regarding her reproductive choices and sexual health.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas
Provides a proven mentoring program that helps children develop good character, self-worth and a positive outlook on life. Volunteers establish a friendship with an individual child and become a special one-to-one mentor and positive role model. Provides information and referral and case management services for Dallas/Fort Worth area families. It provides case management , counseling and parent education for children and families who are clients or alumni of Cal Farley’s residential programs. Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth
Provides emergency financial assistance and case management to eligible families in crisis. Primary assistance is with rent, utilities, prescriptions and transportation (bus passes). Also assists with distribution of fans. Financial education services available. Has a disaster response service. Mission Arlington
Provides food (including formula/baby food), clothing (including blankets), furniture and emergency financial assistance. Will pick up furniture in good condition from Arlington residents. Also distributes fans when available to eligible households. Financial assistance includes gasoline assistance for verifiable employment or job interviews as well as for rent, utility assistance and prescription vouchers. Other special services include transportation, school supplies & clothing, part-time medical & dental clinic, child passenger safety seats, and counseling. Very limited assistance available for car repairs – call to get details. English as a Second Language classes are provided in fifteen locations. Safehaven of Tarrant County
Provides educational services to local school districts through classroom presentations, teacher training and parenting workshops. Specialized training available for allied professionals, the workplace, health care professionals, law enforcement and educators. Educational presentations also available for the community at large. Upward Bound
Project sponsored by the U.S. Dept of Education to assist first generation, under represented high school youth to prepare for college. Year round program consisting of two components: an academic year phase and a summer phase. In the academic year phase, students attend after school tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday weekly. Food, utility and rent assistance – assessment of needs will be provided with all. Goal is to partner with client to become self-sufficient by creating solution-focused goals. Assistance may not be provided if client does not meet action plan goals. Also provides employment assistance which includes assessment of job needs as well as assistance in job search and help with resume writing. Other assistance includes referrals for back-to-school clothing, Christmas gifts, and some home repair assistance for elderly and disabled.
